When Aphrodite caught Eos in bed with Ares she cursed her with a constant longing for young men, which she enthusiastically pursued.
In due course she carried off two brothers Ganymede and Tithonus.  Zeus fancied Ganymede and took him away, so Eos begged Zeus to give Tithonus immortality, which he did.
Eos, foolishly, neglected to ask that he stay young. and as he grew older, sicker and more querulous, Eos locked him away and he became a cicada, the insect that makes a racket at dawn.
